Join our team within the Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services as a Band 5 (Annex T) Registered Mental Health Nurse! This is offered as a development Band 5 (Annex T) role and is a great opportunity for you to develop your skills and knowledge. Youll be providing evidence-based assessment, treatment, follow up, evaluation and consultancy services for service users with the support initially from a Senior Practitioner, progressing to be an autonomous Practitioner. Our terms and conditions are not Agenda for Change; however our pay bands equate to the UK NHS bands and have advantageous pay scales. Your skills, knowledge, enthusiasm and passion for the delivery of high quality recovery-focused care will ensure that children and young people living in the community are given the most effective treatment pathway or service to meet their needs.

Main duties of the job

Our dedicated multi-disciplinary team provides assessments and a range of treatments informed by NICE guidelines for children and young people with mental health problems and neurodevelopmental disorders. Some of your responsibilities will include: Assessing, developing and reviewing individual patients care plans for members of the nursing team to implement. Communicating with and advocating for patients, families and carers. This includes those experiencing mental illness/social isolation and those whom have differing levels of understanding/perception of their condition and whose physical and emotional needs fluctuate frequently. Carrying out comprehensive mental health assessments and re-assessments on patients with varying degrees of complex mental health problems. Formulating, and implementing plans of care that are evidence based.

About the role and our team

  • Be promoted to Band 6 within two years! The Band 5 Annex T posts are development posts where you will undergo a period of preceptorship with the aim of gaining the competencies required to fulfil a Band 6 position. During this period you will be assessed at 6, 12, and 24 months and if you meet the competencies there will be an increase in your salary. You will progress onto Band 6 once you have the full competencies for this role.
