Are you an enthusiastic and motivated individual looking for an exciting and rewarding opportunity to work as a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, within a low secure forensic service on a permanent contract.
This role includes RSU Allowance of £1,446 per annum on top of your salary.
Main duties of the job
To manage a varied caseload and complex case load.
To provide occupational therapy that is evidence-based and follows client-centred principles. This will include assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating the outcome of interventions and documenting all stages of the process.
To provide leadership for junior/non-registered staff as appropriate to the post, through supervision and appraisal, delegating responsibilities as appropriate.
To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of the Occupational Therapy service within a designated area/team, holding responsibility and taking a leading role for defined projects or specialist interventions.
To participate effectively as a full member of the multi-disciplinary team.
To contribute to the maintenance and development of the trust-wide Occupational Therapy service and local multi-disciplinary team.
To actively participate in the education of occupational therapy students.
Pro-actively engaging in teaching/presentations of specialist skills both within the Trust and for continuing professional development events/activities.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
- Professional registration with the Health Professions Council
- Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Experience working as a qualified O.T, preferably in forensic mental health.
- Experience of caseload management/complex conditions & cases
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with patients, carers & staff Team work skills
- Supervision of junior staff and O.T students.
