Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is excited to announce that we are seeking to recruit a Pharmacist to lead on medicines optimisation and pharmacy across HMP Littlehey and HMP Whitemoor.
NHFT is an experienced provider of a wide range of Healthcare services in Health and Justice settings across the Midlands and East of England. We provide integrated healthcare in a number of establishments (prisons, an immigration removal centre and a secure training centre) and specific services including substance misuse and mental health services in others.
The post-holder will provide pharmaceutical services to these two prisons, supported by the Lead Pharmacist of Secured and Specialist Services. This role will provide leadership to pharmacy teams based in HMP Littlehey and HMP Whitemoor as well as Clinical support to the Healthcare team at both establishments. You will report operationally to the Head of Healthcare and remain professionally accountable to the Lead Pharmacist of Secured and Specialist Services
Main duties of the job
As the Clinical pharmacist within the team you will provide clinical pharmacist services and support both teams of Technician at the two sites. You will be responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive clinical pharmacy and medicines management service including support to Primary Care, Primary and Secondary Mental Health and Substance Misuse Services for patients across both services.
Interested applicants will need to have completion of an undergraduate degree in pharmacy and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council, as well as a minimum of 2 years' experience Previous prison/hospital/community pharmacy experience. Applicants will also need to demonstrate a commitment to leadership, learning and development and an ability to adapt to different working environments.
