We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to support us on our improvement journey. As a senior psychiatrist, we are looking for a forward thinking, dynamic change agent who would offer first class clinical leadership within our Adult Mental Health services.
Main duties of the job

The postholder will be an experienced consultant psychiatrist, with at least five years consultant experience in the UK, a track record of strong clinical leadership and an enthusiastic appetite to lead service transformation. This role is peripatetic in nature. The postholder will be willing to move around the trust joining teams that are appropriate for their clinical competencies, to lead clinical improvement to areas of greatest need.

Placements will be a minimum of 6 months, but longer is possible by mutual agreement, to allow the post holder to significantly influence and improve the clinical performance of the team they join.

The first placement will be based at Elmleigh (Inpatient unit), a 34-bedded hospital which provides care and treatment to people who are experiencing an acute mental health crisis and require a short period of hospital care to support their recover.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • Full Registration with the General Medical Council
  • To hold Approved Clinician status at the point of taking up post
  • MRCPsych or recognised equivalent
  • Eligible for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 12 months of CCT at time of interview.
  • Approved under section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983.
