Due to investment in rehabilitation services, we are seeking forward thinking and dynamic band 6 Occupational Therapist.

Copeland ICC covers a large geographical area of natural beauty on the western coast of Cumbria and including the western Lake District National Park areas of Ennerdale and Wasdale. From the coast at St. Bees to the summit of Scafell Pike, Copeland is fantastic place to live and work. The post is based within the Community Rehabilitation Service (CRS) which provides urgent community response, community rehabilitation, inpatient community ward therapy and outpatient rehabilitation clinics.

We are looking for a dynamic, forward thinking, team player to join us in our ambition to deliver high quality care to our patients. As a clinician you will independently assess and treat routine and complex patients in the community setting with a variety of conditions, holding your own caseload and signposting to other services when needed. You will be supported in your own professional development, have the opportunity to pursue clinical interests while continuing to deliver a service across a broad base of practice. As a member of the CRS, you would benefit from a supportive and knowledgeable team

Main duties:

Take part in the Lead Professional of the Day and triage roster to prevent hospital admissions and facilitate discharge from acute and community settings

Triage and provide assessment for those patients that are deemed to require it for admission avoidance, discharge facilitation or rehabilitation.

Provide high quality, effective holistic assessment of patients' needs according to professional expertise and lead in the implementation of an appropriate management plan

Utilise assistant members of the team in the provision of rehabilitation and/or home care services through delegation and effective communication.

Link with other agencies such as social services, PCN colleagues and the voluntary sector to sign post and ensure patients' needs are met.

Provide supervision to junior staff within the team.

Participate in service development.

  • Degree in occupational therapy degree/diploma
  • HCPC registered
