This is an exciting time for LPFT, as we continue on our journey of service improvement, undergoing a range of service transformations and delivering high standards of care for our patients.

We are looking for a full time Band 6 Physiotherapist to work in an autonomous role, providing services across a number of Boston/Sleaford acute and Rehab wards within the Adult In-patient and Urgent Care Division. This role involves some travel between Boston and Sleaford sites and also involved working closely with the Band 6 Physiotherapist colleague covering the Lincoln area.

The post holder will be responsible for the provision of assessment and treatment of male and female service users who have complex mental and physical health needs. You will work as part of an integrated MDT and will contribute to the development of a holistic service for our client group. You will be part of The Therapy Team, comprising of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapy Assistants, Occupational Therapy Assistants and Activity Co-ordinators to ensure patients can continue in their journey to live life well and achieve mental health recovery.

To provide a high quality physiotherapy service, including assessments, planning, treatments and evaluation of care to Service users referred to the service.

Job description Job responsibilities

You will be a dynamic, enthusiastic and innovative Physiotherapist with proven clinical skills and knowledge in assessing and providing interventions for patients without direct supervision.

You will provide physiotherapy to patients with complex and challenging needs, affecting both their mental and physical health. You will be responsible for the provision of a quality and responsive Physiotherapy service across inpatient and rehabilitation wards based in Boston and Sleaford working closely with the Lincoln based Physiotherapist

You will have had experience of working closely with the multi-disciplinary team and you will be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.

As a team player, youll be able to prioritise your work in order to meet deadlines and have a patient centred approach. Previous experience of working within a mental health setting is desirable but not essential.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • BSc Hons in Physiotherapy or post graduate diploma in Physiotherapy
  • HPC Registered Physiotherapist
  • Evidence of maintained CPD including relevant post graduate programmes of study
Desirable
  • Member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
  • Member of the Chartered Physiotherapists in Mental
  • Health clinical interest group &/or other special interest groups.
Experience Essential
  • Experience in working in a healthcare provider organisation as a qualified physiotherapist.
  • Experience of working as a physiotherapist in a variety of clinical areas
  • Experience of working in in-patient services &/or in restricted/secure environments.
  • Good theoretical knowledge with a working knowledge of a broad range of clinical conditions, including mental health conditions.
Desirable
  • Knowledge of access routes to community physiotherapy and other relevant healthcare services.
  • Involvement in audit/research and quality initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and other relevant legislation relevant to the client group.
Skills & Competences Essential
  • Knowledge of CSP guidelines, Trust policies & procedures understanding the legal responsibilities of the role
  • To hold own caseload within defined areas of the Trust, working without direct supervision. (Professional supervision to take the form of regular professional training, peer review and 1:1 with the Trust Lead Occupational Therapist.)
