The opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic physiotherapist with diverse clinical skills to join the Exeter and East Intensive Assessment and Treatment Team (IATT). The team provide a client focused community based service to adults with a learning disability and complex needs that cannot be met by our mainstream colleagues.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills and experience of working with people with complex physical needs. Experience of working with people with learning disabilities is desirable but not essential, if experience has been gained in a similar field with transferrable skills. You will be competent in a wide range of clinical skills as outlined in the Job Description, demonstrate an ability to work alone and as part of a multidisciplinary team and be able to be mobile across areas of Devon as needed.

Main duties of the job

The role will require you to confidently work independently with adults with complex postural and physical needs, completing thorough assessments and providing evidence based treatment programmes as well as training family and carers in 24 hour postural management. The role involves participation in hydrotherapy sessions, postural management clinics and to work closely with senior physiotherapists, physiotherapy assistants and students.

You will be joining a Devon wide specialist physiotherapy team as well as working within the Exeter and East Devon Intensive Assessment and Treatment Team (IATT) based in Exeter and Honiton.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • Diploma/degree in Physiotherapy
  • Good standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Valid State registration with the Health Professions Council
  • Evidence of on-going training and development in the theory and practice of Physiotherapy

  • European Computer Driving Licence/similar qualification or equivalent experience
