To all interested candidates the job role is for a Band 6 (AFC) MHP. You will be employed by the MHUCH but will be part of the Urgent care pathway family. This includes PSAU, CAP, CRT and MHLS.

The MHUCH (Hub) was set up in response to a national request to divert patients who are in a mental health crisis and would ordinarily be asked to attend to A&E, may be taken to A&E by other emergency services or who may self-present at A&E.

This is on a referral basis and has no facilities for walk in or self- presentation.

The Hub provides an alternative location for patients to receive an assessment and minor clinical interventions for deliberate self-harm and overdoses (when it is clinically safe to do so).

This service doesn't replace accident and emergency for patients who require immediate medical intervention or have life threatening injuries must still be directed to the nearest A&E.

The service operates on an appointment basis over 24 hours and 7 days a week.

As a MHP you will be responsible to supporting HCSW's to undertake required physical health observations, undertake mental health triage or core and risk assessments and confidently seek support from medical team or senior staff, if requiring my guidance regarding presentation.

This is a 12.5 hours shift role, for 37.5 hours per week and this will be completed over both day and night provision.

Main duties of the job

To work collaborate with other clinicians and within with wider health, social care and voluntary sector communities as appropriate and promote the role of the Mental Health Practitioner to all stakeholders. To foster a culture of networking in an open and transparent approach with internal and external partnerships and between all stakeholders. Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of evidenced based care to a group of service users according to changing healthcare needs and varying levels of complexity.
