If you are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist role in London working with intellectually disabled adults, we would love to hear from you.

This is a part-time community job ( 0.6 WTE) based in the Enfield Integrated LD team, and you will work with 2 full-time consultant colleagues and a well-resourced multi-disciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

You will provide psychiatric input to intellectually disabled adults registered with Enfield GPs. This includes advice, assessment, medical treatment as well as risk management working closely with team colleagues. There may, very occasionally, be the need to take on supervisor role for CTO/restricted patients. You are not responsible for any inpatient beds but there may be need to liaise with and provide advice to generic services for your admitted patients. You will work closely with the Local Authority and other partner agencies and contribute to the management of the team.

About us

Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest specialist Mental Health Trusts in England, providing a wide range of mental health and physical health services. You will work in an organisation that is in the top 100 employers in the UK and prides itself on the diversity of its staff and the care it delivers. It supports flexible and remote working (where appropriate) and actively supports the well-being of its staff.

The Trust spans eight boroughs and manages an element of Learning Disabilities services across these boroughs. The Brent, Harrow and Hillingdon LD community teams are employed and managed by the Trust whereas it employs psychiatrists for the RBKC, Westminster, K&C, Enfield and Milton Keynes services. The Trust (through the Learning Disability Service line) provides inpatient Assessment and Treatment services at The Kingswood Centre. The services are for people with a Learning Disability who have mental illness and/or behavior disorders so challenging that the local services are unable to meet their needs.

You will have a dedicated office and IT access as well as facilities for remote working. There is scope for academic work with both UCL and Imperial College.
