We are looking to recruit a band 6 OT (or band 5 OT looking for promotion) to work within our existing CAT team based in Cannock covering the South West district beds.
The core remit of the service is to provide Rehabilitation, Reablement and Recovery to those individuals who have been discharged from hospital with the emphasis of getting them back to their previous level of independence.
Main duties of the job
You will be working closely with qualified and non-qualified therapists, with the remit of supporting individuals who have been recently discharged from hospital back home with Home First reablement support or to a rehab bed in a local care home. Your role will be to maximise individuals' independence and reduce the need for long term services.

The post holder will be competent in the key elements of the career framework levels 1 to 6 (skills for health). The post holder will be responsible for a defined population of patients within the Community and / or Bed setting and will work with the Team Leader by conducting delegated tasks instrumental in team management and care co-ordination. The post holder will be skilled in the assessment of complex care needs and, in the development, implementation, and evaluation of treatment plans.
The post holder will be a senior Occupational Therapist and have an understanding of detailed theoretical and practical knowledge. They will have a focus in one of the following areas of Rehabilitation, Integrated Community, Community Intervention and Enablement. They will work with specialist OT's / team leaders, for day-to-day service delivery. They will demonstrate initiative and be creative in finding solutions to problems. They will have supervisory, training & leadership responsibilities where appropriate and will have some responsibility for team performance & service developments.

Person Specification Qualifications and Training Essential
- Dip COT or degree in Occupational Therapy
- BAOT Registered
- Current registration with HCPC
- Member of Royal College of Occupational Therapy
- CPD Folder evidence of ongoing learning/development
- Further clinical study relevant to clinical practice
- Willingness to undertake a Mentorship/clinical education qualification/training as required
- Safeguarding Children Level 1,2,3
- Vulnerable adult training
- Up to date Student training.
- Further training specific to Mental health care such as DBT, CBT or motivational skills training
- Experience of working with adults with complex needs or clear evidence of transferable skills and experience
- Ability to manage time and caseload effectively
- Working in a multidisciplinary team
- Experience of negotiation and conflict management in clinical situations
- Extensive experience of working in the community setting
- Evidence of self directed learning and reflective practice
- Evidence of project work
- Experience of working in a lone working framework
- Presentation skills
- Leadership experience / Qualifications
- Knowledge of long term conditions, palliative care, wound care and infection control.
