An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and driven Band 7 Mental Health clinical lead to work within the First Response Service for Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust.
The First Response Service is a brand new service which will provide 24/7, 365 days a year access to all aspects of mental health care, advice, support and treatment. This role will involve 3 specific areas of work including our first response telephone line, our section 136 assessment suite and our specialised assessment clinic.
Short listing 15th February 2023
Interviews planned for TBC
Main duties of the job
Our assessment clinic provides the completion of holistic mental health assessments for service users who are experiencing all aspects of mental health difficulties. This encompasses liaising with GP's, service users, family/carers and the MDT in order to collaboratively complete individualised treatment plans for our service users.
The assessment suite provides a place of safety for people detained by the police under section 136 of the Mental Health Act. Successful applicants will be responsible for supporting these people during their time on the suite, being involved in the assessment process and ensuring they are discharged from the suite safely with an appropriate plan of care in place. This involves multi agency working with AED staff, Paramedics, the police, ward staff and the wider MDT.
As part of the role there will be an expectation to provide strategic clinical leadership. The post holder will be expected to offer expert clinical advise for service users, carers, staff and other professionals and to demonstrate advanced competence in highly complex decision making, assessment and management of clinical needs.
