This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, self-motivated and enthusiastic person with a 'can do' attitude to join our new International Nurse Recruitment Project Team. As International Nurse Practice Education Facilitator you will play a key role in this new initiative enhancing the experience of international recruits joining the Trust, ensuring they receive a smooth transition into the UK and the NHS, preparing them for their OSCE exams and support then with finding onward accommodation.

You will work closely with HR colleagues and partner organisations to support all aspects of the onboarding process ensuring that the pastoral care our internationally recruited nurses need is in place. You will co-ordinate and manage arrival, welcome and accommodation arrangements. You will be on hand to offer practical support, advice and guidance to newly arrived international nurses.

As well as fulfilling a crucial pastoral support role, you will be responsible for ensuring they are prepared for their OSCE exams.

You must have excellent communication skills, the ability to manage competing demands and deadlines, great organisational skills and a desire to provide brilliant customer service. You must be flexible, able to work early mornings and evenings when required. You must be adept at problem solving and able to deal with challenges positively and calmly.

The purpose of this role is to enhance the experience of international recruits joining the Trust and ensure they receive a smooth transition into the United Kingdom (UK) and the NHS, prepare them for their OSCE exams and support them with finding onward accommodation.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • Registered nurse.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
  • Educated to diploma level with a relevant qualification or equivalent experience
  • Completion of recognised mentorship or Practice Assessors qualification.
  • Extensive post registration experience
  • Robust evidence of own personal development, and that of influencing and supporting a learning environment within a team
  • Experience in change management
  • Audit and/or Quality Improvement and/or research skills
Knowledge/Experience Essential
  • Mental health clinical practice/management experience
  • Experience as mentor/assessor/trainer in a clinical setting
  • Able to demonstrate excellent teaching skills underpinned by knowledge acquired through a teaching qualification
  • Awareness of current issues in nursing and allied health care professions and education
  • Project management
  • Introduction of change into the work environment
  • Knowledge of professional issues, current and future in mental health nursing, education, training and development
  • Working knowledge of the NMC Standards for Assessment and Learning in Practice (NMC 2006, 2008).
  • Ability to identify solutions to problems and implement them effectively
