The post of Senior Eating Disorders Practitioner is available for an experienced clinician with current professional registration and accreditation in a talking therapy modality, such as BABCP registration or equivalent. There is funding for a full-time post, BUT WE WILL ALSO CONSIDER PART-TIME APPLICANTS, as this post is part of the Mental Health Transformation in Eating Disorders and there is a degree of flexibility in the skill mix of the teams. The West Cheshire Community Eating Disorders Service is one of 6 community teams in CWP. It is a small multi-disciplinary service which works very closely with those other teams and CWP's Eating Disorders In-patient service, Oaktrees.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will hold a caseload of clients with moderate to severe eating disorders, and deliver high-quality clinical supervision to practitioners in the team. They will provide Care Co-Ordination for those clients with the most complex difficulties. They will work as a part of a multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the development of therapeutic services within the West Cheshire Eating Disorders Service. The post holder will take part in the ED Clinical Network and be a key contributor to the continued evolution of our care pathways and team working.

Working in the Community Eating Disorders Team is an excellent environment. It has a good mix of staff, whose different skills and personalities are respected and valued. We adopt a pragmatic and open-minded approach to working with clients, drawing from formal training, supervision, team discussion and personal experience to try to give the patients the best outcomes we can. Working in Eating Disorders can be challenging as clients are often very stuck in their illnesses, but they are also capable of dramatic and full recoveries, which is a very rewarding thing to see. Person Specification Experience Essential

• Experience of working in Mental Health post qualification /accreditation
• Ability to carry and maintain own caseload
• Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care and treatment
• Experience with difficult to engage service users with complex needs requiring skilled interventions and care co-ordination

Qualifications Essential

• Registration (with NMC,HPC , or Accreditation with BACP)
• Professional training to degree level or its equivalent e.g. RMN, OT, Dip SW
• Relevant Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy or Cognitive Analytical Therapy

Knowledge & Expertise Essential

• Knowledge of NICE Guidelines and other guidance /policy documents influencing Eating Disorder Service Delivery
• Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management
• Skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing clinically sensitive information to service users, their families, carers and other professionals with and outside the NHS
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to foster good interteam/ interagency working relationships
• Skills in providing consultation to other professionals
