This is an exciting new opportunity to work within a developing CAMHS Crisis team, this team will be providing crisis assessments to young people either within the acute hospitals, Cambridge University Hospital, Peterborough City Hospital and Hinchingbrooke Hospital or within the young person's home.

The Team Manager / Senior Practitioner role involves working alongside the Service Lead, to provide operational management and clinical leadership to the team, ensuring effective implementation and on-going delivery of agreed CAMHS pathways and protocols in order that the Children's directorate can deliver safe and effective, high quality compassionate services.

Ideally applicants would have experience working in health or social care with complex family issues and be able to demonstrate our Trust values, Professionalism, Respect, Innovation, Diversity and Empowerment.

Main duties of the job

You will have a key role in the development of this team, and support children and young people to access crisis support and brief intervention.

Provide operational management and leadership to the team, ensuring effective implementation and on-going delivery of Trust pathways and protocols in order that the team can deliver safe and effective, high quality compassionate services.Clinical requirement: Undertake the required clinical work to maintain registration with the post-holder's governing body (but not to exceed 20% of the time dedicated to the post of Team Manager).

Work in partnership with clinical and pathway leads, the Service Manager and other senior staff to establish effective multi-disciplinary working within the team and the wider CAMH Service.

Liaise with a range of stakeholders including commissioners (where appropriate).Lead on the recruitment and supervision of staff, operating within the available resources to achieve the required targets.

Lead on the establishment, implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures.

  • To provide operational managerial and clinical leadership to the CAMHS Crisis Team that assess and support young people in crisis, these assessments may take place at hospital and at home.
  • Work in partnership with the Service Manager and other senior staff in CAMHS to establish effective multi-disciplinary working with CAMHS and partner systems.
  • Liaise with partner agencies and stakeholders, including commissioners, to support the access of children and young people to appropriate crisis support and on-going support from mental health services.
  • Lead on the recruitment and supervision of staff, operating within the available resources to achieve the required targets.
  • Lead on the establishment, implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures.
  • Job plan will include 20% of direct clinical intervention.
  • To undertake Crisis assessments and safety planning with families and careers, to liaise with other agencies to ensure young people have the correct support following their crisis assessment.

You cannot use public transport for this role as this is not a reliable form of transport and will not allow you to meet service needs. Person Specification Education/Qualifications Essential
  • Professional qualification and registration appropriate to role, Social Care, Nursing, Mental Health Professional or other Health all relevant
Desirable
  • Post qualification continuing professional development, management and leadership qualification
Experience Essential
  • Experience as a professional working with clients with emotional, social and mental helath needs
  • Experience of staff management and evidence of application of managerial skills and knowledge
  • Experiernce of successful partnership working with other professionals
  • Evidence of developing supervision and training
  • Evidence of effective working with service users
  • Knowledge of local safeguarding policies and procedures
