We areseeking to appoint an experienced and highly motivated individual who willoperationally lead and coordinate the Postgraduate Diploma in Evidence-Based Psychological Therapies for Children and Young People, Children & Young People's Well-being Practitioner (CYWP) pathway. It is an exciting time of development for this programme as it moves from a Postgraduate certificate to a Postgraduate diploma, in line with NHS-England and Health Education England's vision for the implementation of the CYWP role as part of the wider Children and Young People's MH workforce expansion. As a result, the post holder will have real opportunity to shape the new course as well as being part of national planning and decision making about the delivery, embedding and sustainment of this new role.

The post is based at theGMMH Psychological Therapies Training Centre (PTTC) which is renowned for providing high quality training to students in evidence-based psychological therapies across the North West region and beyond. Within the PTTC you will lead the expanding CYWP Programme team, supporting a range of tutors and lecturers from a variety of professional backgrounds. Your team make up half of the wider Low Intensity Programme Team which is a large supportive and friendly group.The course you will lead provides training in the key knowledge and skills required to become a Children and Young People's Wellbeing Practitioner.

Main duties of the job

Prospective candidates must demonstrate considerable knowledge and experience of CBTin either a high or low intensity setting. Desirability, candidates will have a track record in supervising and training others in CBT also. They will also have excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills as well as an ability to show intuition and innovation in practice. The post will include directly managing the CYWP team as well as liaising with regional and national delivery partners to include service partner leads, HEE, NHS-E and University of Manchester colleagues so previous strategic experience would be preferable.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our multi-disciplinary team and to work collaboratively within our established and highly regarded psychological therapies training programmes.

This is an initial fixed term post for one year, however the post will likely be renewed subject to funding confirmation. Secondment can be offered with the agreement of an applicant's existing employer.

Person Specification Education/qualifications Essential
  • Post-Graduate Diploma level training in CBT/ CT (either High or Low Intensity)
Desirable
  • Recognised teaching qualification
  • Qualification in one of the main mental health, health or social care professions with significant post qualification experience in mental health relevant settings
Experience Essential
  • Track record of successful development and/or delivery of relevant training programmes and/ or other project leadership
  • Substantial experience of delivering specialist training and supervision to a range of other professionals including use of standardised CBT measures of competency
  • Experience of academic assessment in the context of Higher Education, and knowledge of HEI academic procedures
Desirable
  • Experience of programme development in the context of Higher Education
Knowledge Essential
  • Advanced knowledge of the theoretical basis of CBT and its application to LTHC
Desirable
  • Knowledge and understanding of national policy and strategic context of the IAPT project
