Are you looking for a new challenge, are you a caring confident and enthusiastic nurse who can bring clinical leadership and a breadth of clinical experience to a busy community CAMHS.

An opportunity has arisen for a qualified advanced clinical practitioner to join the GMMH Community CAMHS Team in Wigan.

As the successful post holder, you will be required to practice autonomously and proactively to manage a caseload of mixed complexity in line with Thrive delivery and partner agencies of Children's services

You will autonomously assess, formulate, diagnose and treat young people and children under your care and deliver a range of interventions, in conjunction with team members, as part of a wider MDT and also in collaboration with primary care children's services or VCSE partners.

You will take a lead in assuring the physical health care and medicines management elements of service delivery are provided to high standards and that the whole team are supported to develop and maximise their knowledge and skills in these areas. This will incorporate involvement with Trust wide forums, leading on clinical audit and also training.

As a valued member of the leadership team you will be the senior professional voice of nursing staff . You will contribute to and where necessary lead on service development activities, including research and development.

Main duties of the job

The successful post holder will undertake this role by:
  • Providing advanced and expert level of practice (including non-medical prescribing) within the Child and Adolescent mental Health Team leading to improved patient outcomes
  • Providing clinical leadership and management leading to the provision of safe, qualify, effective care.
  • Improving workforce knowledge and practice through the contribution to a CAMH service education and training programme
  • Leading improvements in the quality of care and safety through service development, evaluation and audit. With specific focus on medicines management and physical health.
  • To act as a member of the divisional senior clinical leadership team to deliver a programme of quality improvement to across Community CAMHS across Wigan and Bolton.

Job description Job responsibilities

To demonstrate high-level of communication skills at all levels.

To be able to interpret complex information requiring a high level of analysis and decision making and be competent in providing high level reports to the Service Manager for Community and Urgent Care

To establish and maintain robust communication networks with patients, carers, MDT members, senior clinical and leadership team and other health care and social care workers and external agencies.

To promote awareness of the role of CAMHS and across GMMH divisions and the wider community.

Maintain the principles of professional training and development by encouraging achievement of high-quality standards, which are underpinned by open communication and team working across all disciplines.

To foster relationships, link services and agencies that enhance the structures that support mental health with patients and their carers.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • Professional registration - NMC
  • Masters level Advanced Clinical Practice qualification
  • Non medical prescribing qualification
Desirable
  • Project management
  • Quality improvement
Knowledge Essential
  • Extensive knowledge of psychological, social and biological factors and formulating these into a comprehensive biopsycho- social formulation and risk management plans.
  • Extensive knowledge and application in practice of leading complex adult safeguarding procedures, professional meetings, MHA, CPA, DOLs
  • Carry out all duties and responsibilities of the post in accordance with equality and diversity and dignity in care and work policies and principles.
  • Understand the Trusts strategic goals and how they can support them.

Experience Essential
  • Extensive experience in a senior management/clinical/practitioner leadership role within mental health
  • Designing and implementing number of clinical audits, projects and activities simultaneously
  • Experience of leading complex RCA (incident investigation), complaints and HR investigations.
