CAMHS Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Clinical Lead

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Lead in Nottinghamshire CAMHS Crisis and Resolution Home Treatment Team.

CAMHS Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment receives referrals from young people directly/ carers, of professional groups such as GP's, SENCOS, or Social Workers. Referrals for Home Treatment can also come from Liaison Psychiatry and Community CAMHS Teams to enable admission avoidance.

Main duties of the job

This post will work closely with the Operational Lead for CAMHS Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment, and lead with clinical pathways and strategy specific to crisis fidelity.

There is an expectation for the Clinical Lead to establish strong relationships professionally with leaders across CAMHS and in Liaison Psychiatry to ensure smooth patient pathways at all times.

The post holder will offer clinical leadership and expertise to the wider team, role modelling skills and experience, and strengthening learning. The post holder will be part of key steering group relevant to clinical strategy work with Service Mangers to transform services when required in line with national and local direction.

The post holder will establish training packages and deliver these to external providers such as School SENCOs. Where appropriate the clinical lead will consider collaborative training events with teams such as MHST's.

The post holder will join suicide prevention steering groups within the trust and ensure quality improvements are made with immediacy when required in line with the trust strategic vision.

The post holder will provide cover in the absence of the Operational Team Lead when required.

The Post Holder will be required to contribute to the Bronze on Call rota.

  • Core Allied Health Professional Qualification

  • Evidence of further degree or higher level training
  • Qualification in therapeutic approaches with children and families eg CBT, systemic etc

Experience

  • Experience of working in CAMHS services.
  • Knowledge and experience of leadership and the management of staff within these fields.
  • Extensive post registration experience, including experience of working as a senior clinician in mental health services within CAMHS or Mental Health services.
  • Experience of the management, development and leadership of staff.
  • Experience and skills in Supervision and Appraisal of staff.
  • Experience of leading Multi-disciplinary teams and supporting effective team working.
  • Experience of caseload management, including working with clients with a wide range of mental health difficulties.
  • Experience of leading service change and service development
  • Experience of developing and delivering training packages regarding mental health and risk.

Desirable
  • Knowledge of and experience of working within Child and Adolescent Mental Health service with young people experiencing mental health crisis.
  • Experience of working in CAMHS Crisis and or Liaison Services.
  • Experience of working in Adult Crisis or Liaison Services.
  • Experience and skills in Clinical audit, research and evidence based practices
  • Experience of the clinical and operational functions of specialist child and adolescent mental health services, working in partnership with Acute hospitals and other health, education and social care providers.

  • Knowledge of current Mental Health policy and Legislation
  • Knowledge and experience of Safeguarding Adults and Children practice
  • Knowledge of policy drivers for CAMHS service
