This post offers the opportunity to work in a busy, well-supported award winning undergraduate psychiatric medical education setting in combination with a Clinical post in CAMHS.
The post holder will be expected to be mobile and be able to attend face to face clinical teaching in a number of sites including both Torbay, Exeter and potentially North Devon. During the Clinical Element of the post, the post holder will be primarily providing clinical care for children and young people within the Eastern CAMHS locality, working closely alongside Consultant Psychiatrists and Specialty Doctors.

Main duties of the job
The primary responsibilities are to facilitate the delivery of psychiatric Undergraduate medical teaching and assessment for clinical students (years 3 5) from both Peninsula and Exeter medical schools. This post is paired with a clinical CAMHS Senior Trust Grade post.

Person Specification Special Experience Essential
- Previous experience of teaching
- Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983
- Evidence based knowledge of forensic psychiatry.
- Knowledge of clinical risk management.
- Knowledge of relevant Mental Health legislation.
- Clinical teaching fellow component
- Medical Practitioner with postgraduate qualifications
- Fully registered with GMC
- MBBS or equivalent primary medical qualification
- CAMHS Specialty Doctor component
- Minimum of 3 years in basic psychiatric training, or
- Evidence of achievement of ST3/CT3 competences in a relevant specialty at time of application.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Clinical teaching fellow component
- Teaching qualification
- Successful completion of Core Psychiatry Training
- MRCPsych
- CAMHS Specialty Doctor component
- Experience at SHO / CT level or above of working in the field of Child Psychiatry.
- Evidence of excellent organisational and time management skills
- Evidence of team working
- Prepared to be flexible in working patterns
- Ability to fulfil all duties of the post
- Enthusiasm, commitment and common sense
- Ability to communicate with clarity in spoken and written form.
