An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Occupational Therapist to work independently within the community mental health team located within the Hywel Dda Centre, Chepstow .
The postholder will manage a varied and complex caseload providing Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to adults with mental health difficulties. The post holder will be required to work as part of the multi-disciplinary team offering advice & recommendations to the team based on the outcome of assessments & interventions carried out with service users. The post holder will be expected to care coordinate and work within the limits of their professional competence.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work collaboratively across the wide-ranging services and agencies to support a programme of recovery and social inclusion.
Within the OT service, practice is underpinned by the Model of Human Occupation and the post holder will be expected and supported to develop skills in the use of MOHO-licenced assessment tools, and the underpinning theory.
This post is part of a wider network and professional structure of occupational therapists across the mental health and learning disabilities division. The post holder would be expected to engage with regular practice forums and workshop opportunities to drive occupational therapy development in inpatient, community, and specialist settings.
The occupational therapy service is committed to student education and practice development. The post holder would be expected to facilitate practice placements for students throughout the academic year.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
