Due to retirement we have a vacancy coming up that provides the right candidate with the opportunity to work as a senior member of the Primary Care Mental Health (PCMH) service within the Black Country; providing high quality evidence-based mental health support and psychological interventions to service users with wide ranging mental health disorders and provide clinical supervision for the PCMH mental health team (80%).

To be principle in supporting the wider design and development of transformed services with increased collaboration with partner agencies and Voluntary Care organisations; supporting the delivery of service developments and training to the PCMH team/MDT, promoting the delivery of evidence-based NICE compliant interventions, setting and monitoring mental health/RMN standards of practice and supporting the delivery of local / national key performance indicators (20%).

Acting as a resource to the PCMH and wider mental health/non-mental health professional community and participating within audit, research activity, and policy and service development relevant to the PCMH service.

To deputise in the absence of the Community Operational Manager in regards to the oversight of the PCMH team as required.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the clinical leadership of Band 6/7 PMHC practitioners, Band 6 primary mental health team and Band 5/3 mental health support workers within the PMHC team.

The post holder will not have direct budgetary responsibility but will be an authorized signatory in the absence of the team manager for petty cash worth up to £50 and all stock and non stock requisitions with a budget <£5,000.

It will be expected that the post holder will meet activity targets relating to their role. Clinical days will equate to 2 days clinical activity (equivalent to 0.5 per locality per week) & 1 day clinical supervision activity (1 day per locality per month). In addition the Clinical Lead will need allocated 1 day per week for service development & 1 day for Primary/Secondary Care liaison/training.
