AWP Specialised Services is currently embarking on a journey of exciting new developments, in response to the rising clinical need to support Gambling harms. AWP have been provided with additional investment to help support and provide treatment for people who want help with their gambling.

AWP are investing in additional resources for our new Specialised Southwest Gambling Harms Service and we are looking for new members of staff who may come from a number of backgrounds from core mental health to addiction services to join this new service to create a friendly and supportive team.

This is an exciting and developing field to work in with national collaborations and space to innovate therapeutic interventions for our service users. Our service is a collaboration with a number of providers who share the same values and we would like you to consider applying.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an 8c Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to provide clinical leadership to this new service, including the development of pathways and the clinical model, working in collaboration with the Service/Team manager, as well as the team and national experts. This innovative role will be key in developing this new service as trauma informed, incorporating both psychological therapies and psychologically informed interventions provided by both NHS and voluntary sector partners. Working in collaboration with Service Users and Carers will be key to achieving this. The post holder would have a role both nationally and throughout the South West, including the development of the both the clinical and research aspects of the service.

Job description Job responsibilities

To provide specialist integrated clinical leadership and management to the new Specialist Gambling Service for the South West of England and across the system (both internally and externally as required), especially the Psychological Therapies aspects of the Substance Use Services in relation to psychological therapies and psychologically informed interventions.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • 1.Doctorate Level training in Clinical / Counselling Psychology or equivalent professional training for other professions
  • 3.Advanced Specialist Clinical qualification
  • 2.Registered with the HPC or other equivalent regulatory body.
Desirable
  • Management training/ qualification.
Experience Essential
  • Substantial relevant post qualification experience
  • Experience of working across service settings and agencies
  • Significant R&D work in a specialist area
  • 8.Advanced expertise in clinical supervision with all grades of staff and with other professions.
Desirable
  • . Leadership of service redesign.
