An opportunity has arisen for a band 6 OT post within Swansea Community Learning Disability team ( CLDT).
This is a multi-disciplinary team delivering services to adults with a learning disability living in the Swansea area. This is a great time to join as we are implementing a programme of modernisation for CLDT's.
As a post holder you will be part of a supportive team within Swansea and much greater team across the Swansea Bay Health Board.

Main duties of the job
To provide Occupational therapy to a mixed caseload of adults with a learning disability and co-morbid conditions, living in the Swansea area.
To participate in the OT perspective in multi disciplinary service development and modernisation plans.
To provide supervisory support to more junior OT's and OT students.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
- Degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent OT qualification)
- Professional Registration with HCPC
- Membership of professional body BAOT
- Accredited fieldwork supervisor for the education of OT students
- Experience of autonomous caseload management, comprising assessment, planning intervention and evaluation within relevant clinical area
- Understanding of the Occupational Therapy process with particular emphasis on specialist area
- Theories of OT and their application to practice
- Broad knowledge of current best practice in Occupational Therapy with designated client group
- Knowledge of the principles of Clinical Governance
- Awareness of specific government policy / legislation pertinent to the clinical areas.
- Understanding of professional ethics and their application in practice
- Documented evidence of CPD
- Awareness of Health and Safety legislation
- Understanding the processes that have led to occupational dysfunction
- Application of knowledge gained through attendance at relevant clinical courses
- Experience of research and/ or audit and implementing evidence based practice
- Knowledge of standardized assessments and intervention techniques appropriate to clinical areas.
- Previous experience of supervising staff
- Ability to work single-handedly with individuals or groups
- Organizational, planning and time management skills
- Understanding of team dynamics
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to undertake physical activity required for therapeutic and care handling of patients
- Physical, emotional stamina to deal with sensitive and difficult situations
