Job Details
This is an exciting opportunity following being commissioned to provide an expansion to our forensic community teams, this role is based at Cedar House in Ipswich, we are looking to recruit an Occupational therapist at band 6 who is highly skilled, motivated, and passionate to enhance our service provision and deliver on outcomes identified by the collaborative. This is to focus on service user progression and achieving the best for the service user by reducing the risks of re admission, shorter stays in hospitals and supporting with more community resource to aid recovery. The role will work closely with the inpatient wards to provide a meaningful and collaborative approach to the, appropriate management, risk assessment and treatment of the Service User group. Including the providing of support and assistance to inpatient facilities, while linking in with other statuary and non-statuary agencies; incorporating full/joint working as appropriate. The aims are to:
- Reduce length of stay
- Supporting step-down and recovery in the community at the earliest appropriate opportunity
- Preventing re-admissions where possible
Main duties of the job

Your wealth of skills and expertise in metal health and occupational therapy will be valued and career progression will be supported within our line management and appraisal structures.You will be expected to complete collaborative assessments and review CPA with Service users and their friends, family, and carers.The MDT is recovery focused and works with a mixed caseload of male and female service users who have complex mental health needs. Working with carers, relatives and other third-party agencies will be a very crucial part of your role.In addition, this role will focus on supporting reintegration back into the community by in reaching services users placed in inpatient areas and proactively supporting plans to discharge into the community.

Job responsibilities
By joining our team, you will be well supported to develop further your knowledge and skills to deliver evidence-based interventions for the group of service users. Personal development will be supported through meaningful Appraisal and via a bespoke training package (a comprehensive in house & external training programmes). On a monthly basis you will be offered reflective practice sessions, mandatory clinical supervision, and Line management supervision. You will also have an opportunity to actively take part in Quality improvement projects within the service.

Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is the main provider of specialist mental health services for the counties of Norfolk and Suffolk, serving a population of 1.6 million people. We are a large organisation covering a wide geographical area divided into ‘Care Groups'.
