This is an opportunity for a skilled and experienced counsellor or Counselling co-ordinator to join our team. You will be working in a supportive team environment where you can benefit from flexible working.

You will be based within Carmarthenshire; however, will need to be willing to travel to other sites across the county dependent on service need. We offer a blended model of engagement, including the use of virtual platforms as well as face to face.

The applicant will be experienced working autonomously, in managing teams and co-ordinating services alongside having in depth knowledge and experience of grief, loss and bereavement. The applicant will need to possess a recognised qualification in clinical Supervision and will need to be a member of the BACP and/or be accredited, and or have relevant professional membership.

This is a Fixed term/ Secondment until 05/11/23. If you are a Hywel Dda University Health Board employee and are applying for this post as a secondment, agreement for the secondment is needed from your current manager prior to application.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will become an integral member of the team. We offer flexible working arrangements in return we ask for your flexibility in meeting service need. We provide high level of supervision and caseload management support in light of the complexities of clients' needs. For continued professional development, we keep an eye on learning opportunities both in- house and externally.

You will be working within the Specialist Bereavement Support Service and be responsible for the co-ordination of a busy and dynamic Service, alongside providing bereavement counselling and psychological support to clients within Carmarthenshire. You will be conducting assessments and provide one to one counselling support, facilitating group work alongside providing Clinical Supervision to staff. You will be required to work alongside and in partnership with other Healthcare professionals. This role requires a high degree of autonomous working, and the applicant will be required to meet regularly with the Service manager.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
