A rare opportunity has arisen for a Registered Practitioner with a specialist interest in Eating Disorders to join the Worcestershire team on a permanent basis. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team who will support with clinical pathway developments and responsible for delivering a service to Children and young people who have complex physical, emotional and mental health needs.

No two days will be the same, so flexibility, problem solving skills and a desire to make a difference are all vital for this role.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will need to have proven experience working within a face paced environment, demonstrate a flexible approach, with the ability to manage workload and maintain professionalism during busy periods. You will have a strong passion for working with Children and young people with Eating disorders and complex emotional and mental health needs.
The role will provide you with variety and no two days are the same. You will have autonomy to balance and achieve the demands of the role and will need demonstrate your ability to be responsive and flexible to be able meet the requirements of the role.
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team offering assessments and will deliver NICE guided interventions for Children with Eating disorders to ensure best outcomes for those accessing the service. You will require the ability to liaise with and work in collaboration with other relevant agencies according to the needs of the young person. The Community Eating Disorder team has solid links with the local inpatient paediatric service and both services work closely together to ensure consistent and collaborative care is provided.

The post holder will carry continuing responsibility for the assessment, treatment and management of a defined caseload.
You will use a range of treatment approaches eg psychodynamic, behavioural, cognitive and psychopharmacological, as appropriate, within the overall framework of the multi-disciplinary team.
The role will involve completing individual assessments, risk assessments and formulation of care plans which is the subject of regular evaluation and wherever practicable is formulated in conjunction with the patient and/or their family.
Person Specification Skills & Abilities Desirable
- Basic IT competency
- Ability to undertake risk assessments within CAMHS
- Working knowledge of Health Service
- Good knowledge of recognised disorders and illnesses in the field of mental health
- Understand a range of communication styles when working with children and families in distress
- Knowledge of Mental Health Act
- Hold an interest in a specialist area
- Working knowledge of mental health issues in CAMH Services
- Awareness of budgets and responsible use of resources
- RMN/RN (Child)/RN (LD/SW or OT
- Relevant professional registration
- Relevant Post graduate study or be able to demonstrate further skills-based training
Additional Criteria Essential
- Able to meet the travel requirements of the role
- Experienced gained during pre- registration training either in a mental health or child placement setting
- Use of therapeutic interventions with children and young people i.e. 1:1, counselling, family therapy and group work
- Providing consultation
- Liaising across Tier I-IV CAMH Services
- 12-month minimum post registration experience in mental health care.
- Working in inpatient settings
- Providing care in community settings
- Working in a multi-disciplinary Team
