Due to the high performance of i-access over many years Surrey County Council and SABP have worked together to find a commissioning model that did not cause the damage and service disruption procurement processes can often result in. i-access is now jointly delivered by Surrey County Council and Surrey and Borders under a cooperation agreement. This is an ongoing agreement, which enables i-access to continue to deliver a quality service to Surrey residents without the disruption of an impending procurement process.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate would be enthusiastic, committed to working with people with substance misuse problems and supporting them towards improving their health and wellbeing in their recovery from addiction. The role would consist of holding a caseload of people with alcohol problems, facilitating groups/1:1 interventions for service users at different stages of their recovery journey. Additional roles may involve, but are not limited to, facilitating abstinence-based recovery focused groups to people who are undergoing detoxification, or who have recently achieved abstinence. Experience of group facilitation with this service user group is essential, as is a good understanding of addiction recovery principles and practice. You will be joining an experienced and friendly multi-disciplinary team in a supportive working environment, with a visible and accessible management team who are committed to providing a high quality of service to our population. You will mainly be based at our North West Surrey base but there may be requirements to cover our other bases across Surrey on occasion.

Job description Job responsibilities

· To carry a case load.

· To undertake assessments, plan, deliver and evaluate substance misuse treatment.

· To provide BBV interventions.

· To provide high quality harm reduction advice and interventions.

· To work closely with the MDT, service users and group supervisor delivering groups, 1:1 work, telephone assessments and work collaboratively with the team.

· To facilitate groups in line with the i-access treatment pathways as required, either in the format of a group or on a 1:1 basis depending on service user need.

· To undertake assessments, plan, deliver and evaluate substance misuse treatment.

· To work closely with the MDT, service users and group supervisor delivering groups, 1:1 work, telephone assessments and work collaboratively with the team.

· To ensure clinical records are updated, maintained and completed in line with local operational guidelines and trust policy.

· To liaise with group participants’ keyworkers, updating progress and reviewing the care plan and risk assessment appropriately.

· To participate in care planning meetings, including the preparation and presentation of reports and information.

· To maintain all records to the expected professional standard and actively ensure good communication within the team and between sessions.

· To maintain agreed standards of care and report to and advise the management team if there are any difficulties.

· To act as positive role model for colleagues and others through personal and professional conduct and practice.

· All staff will have a sound awareness of Safeguarding issues and be clear about their respective roles and responsibilities to report, respond to and share information in relation to Safeguarding Adults, Safeguarding Children, Domestic Abuse and Public Protection.

· All staff will have a working knowledge of and adhere to the Data Protection Act and will not disclosure to any person or organisation, any confidential information that comes into their possession in the course of their employment.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential

• Diploma in health or social care related subject.
• Evidence of continued professional development in relevant subject areas.

• 1 years experience minimum, working in Substance Misuse and providing group facilitation

• Experience of working in community substance misuse team.
