We are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our established Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) In Southampton.
Main duties of the job

You will be working as part of a well-established Community Mental Health team. You will benefit from working alongside experienced consultants and a thriving multidisciplinary team. The Community Mental Health team serve the population of Southampton which is and expanding and vibrant city situated on the south coast of England.

You will be expected to form part of the teams leadership, as well as that of the wider consultant body, as well as seeing patients you will offer advice and support to other members of the team and also to primary care colleagues where you will need to build strong working relationships.

We have an active Research and Development function and we are always looking for more involvement in our research projects; we offer an excellent new consultant induction programme to support and develop you as a new consultant within Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust; even if this is not your first consultant post this helps orientate you to the organisation. We have established this to create a network through your first year with the Trust combining a tailor development programme and coaching with organisational understanding.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • Full Registration with the General Medical Council
  • To hold Approved Clinician status at the point of taking up post
  • MRCPsych or recognised equivalent
  • Eligible for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 12 months of CCT at time of interview.
  • Approved under section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983.
