An opportunity has become available for a Deputy Team Manager position in the South Oxfordshire Adult Mental Health Team (AMHT) to provide dedicated clinical and managerial leadership to the Flexible Assertive Community Treatment Teams (FACT).
The successful candidate will be expected to work within the Wallingford, Henley and Thame patch although employed to the South AMHT may be expected to provide cover across all of the patch teams based in Abingdon, Didcot and Wantage.
Main duties of the job
The South Oxfordshire Adult Mental Health Team (AMHT) is a combined Crisis, Assertive Outreach and CMHT providing intensive and seamless assessment, care and treatment for people with a wide range of mental health difficulties across South Oxfordshire.
Our service is integrated with psychological services and is working within a Partnership with 5 Charitable services to provide an excellent standard of care to our patients. This makes for an exciting and diverse working environment with resources from 3rd Sector services such as Mind and Connections (floating support) embedded in the team. In addition we are currently embedding Peer Support Workers within the teams to promote the power of lived experience and ensure that the gap between patient and clinician is bridged.
Your professional supervision and leadership needs will be prioritised and you will experience excellent support and professional development opportunities. We are able to offer a range of learning and development packages as part of this role, including access to Masters Level Leadership training and bespoke Line Manager Toolkit training.
You will join a dynamic and skilled leadership team with professionals from across Social Work, Nursing and Occupational Therapy as well as Psychological Therapists and Psychiatry within an organisation rated Good by the CQC.

The post holder will be a qualified OT
who will provide direct clinical leadership to the team alongside the Consultant Psychiatrists, the other Deputy Team Managers and Team Managers.
We are looking to recruit a highly skilled, organised, enthusiastic practitioner who is passionate about working with mental health service users and who would like develop their skills in leadership and who have a particular interest in service development and service improvement.

Person Specification Qualification Essential
- Relevant Mental Health Qualification
- Current registration with relevant professional body
- To hold an advanced professional/clinical qualification (e.g. AMHP, CBT, DBT, NMP)
- Experience as a Band 6 or equivilant
- Experience of working in a community setting
- Experience of working with Adults with acute mental illness
- Working with eating disorders
- Range of evidence based interventions
