We are looking for qualified learning disability/mental health nurses who can deliver care, compassion and empathy to our patients, improving the quality of care services within a secure forensic environment.

The division is responsible for specialised secure mental health services, in low, medium and high secure settings for service users with a primary classification of mental illness, and personality disorders. Working across the division as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will contribute to the delivery of high standards of care and treatment to a complex group of service users. This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to gain invaluable experience in a specialist forensic environment.

From the 1stNovember 2021 a Recruitment & Retention premia has been introduced to attract and retain qualified nurses within the Secure & Specialist Learning Disability Division and further support our Grow Our Own Strategy.

For our registered Mental Health and Learning Disability nurses across our medium secure services at Rowan View, this will be a premia of £1518

Main duties of the job

Rowan View provides specialist Learning Disability & Mental Health services over 8 wards. The hospital opened in 2020 and is a state of the art hospital which provides care & treatment to men and women. Whilst relational security & the capacity to work in an individualized and therapeutic way are central to the treatment offer, we are supported with the use of therapeutic technology for the benefit of service users & staff including virtual reality and avatar therapy.

  • A social hub incorporating a caf, therapy rooms, multi faith room, sports hall, gymnasium, music rooms, skills for life room, IT suite, bank and a physical health suite

We have eight inpatient wards at the hospital:

Astley Ward, Birkdale Ward, Delamere Ward, Eden Ward , Marbury Ward, Rivington Ward, Thornton Ward and Vale Ward

  • Evidence of continued professional development
