This is an exciting time to join our Community Adult Mental Health Service as an Operational Manager for one of Community Mental Health Teams in the East of Northamptonshire.

We are on a transformation journey based on expanding and redesigning community mental health services in and around Primary Care Networks.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational and clinical management of their team. They will make a significant contribution tothe development of local operational and clinical pathways as well as being instrumental in building and maintaining relationships with our local stakeholders.

We are seeking applications from experienced registered mental health professionals with leadership experience at Band 6 or equivalent.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, both orally and in writing with clarity and precision. They will have proven problem solving, analytical and reflective skills have the ability to function effectively in the face of highly emotional and distressing problems and a strong value base which drives practice.

Co-production and working in partnership will be core to what you do in your current practice and immediately transferable to your new role. We are looking for an individual who shows compassion and who is engaging and focussed on service user and carer satisfaction, as well as someone who is able to support an established team through current national challenges and local service change.

Main duties of the job

The Operations Manager (OM) is responsible for the line management of the staff working in the team and has responsibility for utilising a range of systems including Healthroster, ESR, Agresso, SystmOne, Datix, SMART to ensure the achievement of KPIs. Expected results are defined but the post holder has the autonomy to decide how these are achieved.

The OM will provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information where complex skills are needed for clinical and operational situations. They will be required to undertake investigations including patient safety incidents and HR cases through exercising judgement and analysing complex facts and/or situations consisting of several components.

The OM will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating STAR Days, clinical case discussions and service improvement meetings, to lead the appraisal & supervision process within the team and facilitate all team processes that encompass all HR functions, including the monitoring of sickness absence and ensuring grievance and disciplinary matters are highlighted and addressed where appropriate.

The OM has responsibility for the planning and organising of the RTT pathway in their team. The OM is responsible for managing the budget for the service, has responsibility for authorising expenditure and is accountable for the expenditure within the centre. As the OM, the post holder is the advisor and trust resource on all matters relating to their Team in the first instance.
