An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic and innovative individual to join the CNWL Healthcare Team at HMPYOI Feltham

Wellbeing Team provides mental health assessments, identify and provide care for young Adults within HMPYOI Feltham.

The ethos and aim of the service is to proactively intervene at the earliest opportunity in providing Trauma informed care and medical interventions to young adults in HMPYOI Feltham. Those in greatest need of support receive the appropriate care and treatment.

Main duties of the job

To deliver effective day-to-day leadership and direction to all staff within the Health and Wellbeing team.

To provide immediate advice and direction to all members of the Health and Wellbeing Team and others in relation to the management of highly complex and challenging young people in the YOI.

To split time equally between management role and clinical role i.e. carry a caseload of patients and fulfil 'duty' assessment functions.

To ensure the service is well organised, evidence based, & service user focused.

To support the Service Manager in implementing service changes when required, ensuring effective implementation with measurable outcomes, and to agreed timescales.

To be part of a culture that focuses on improving outcomes across the care pathway for patients.

About us

To work in partnership with the Prison and other healthcare providers to ensure there are clear and responsive operational policies, procedures and protocols.

To support the service manager in implementing care quality standards.

This will include keeping updated with national policy and legislation, attending relevant Trust meetings, policy development and implementation of improvement programmes across the service. To provide cover for the Service Manager as required.

To ensure health roster is maintained daily capturing all staff absences, bank shifts, agency shift and finalising within Trust deadline each month to ensure all staff get paid correctly

Job description Job responsibilities

The post holder will support the HWBT Service Manager and Senior Psychologists by having day to day responsibility for the work of the Health and Wellbeing Team. This will include line-management of clinical staff, clinical work, supporting the HWBT Manager with performance management and other management functions of the team. This will involve ensuring effective and efficient resource utilisation (Health Roster management), the delivery of evidence-based patient care and a safe service. In conjunction with Consultant Psychiatrist, Consultant Psychologist and the HWBT service Manager, the post holder will provide clear, visible leadership, vision and clinical expertise to enhance the service users experience.

To provide clinical leadership in specialist area for example Non Medical prescribing. ADHD, Learning disability or be actively working towards a clinical speciality

The post-holder will be expected to operate flexibly within a challenging health care environment, involving multiple providers, whilst being an ambassador for Health and Wellbeing and CNWL.

The post-holder will also support the team in the creation of effective pathways (Both internal and external) of care for the young people at YOI Cookham Wood.

A key part of the role will be supporting the implementation of Secure Stairs in Feltham A and reviewing ways of working in Feltham B to incorporate these principles.

The post holder will take the lead on either Feltham A or B , be familiar with HJIPs(Feltham B) or CYPIPS (Feltham A) and work to ensure effective performance management, data quality and evidence of service improvement in your area.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • Nursing qualification i.e. RMN
  • Non Medical Prescribing Qualification
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Professional Registration - Nursing and Midwifery Council
Desirable
  • Management qualification and an understanding of management theory
Experience Essential
  • Experience of working within a CPN role in Mental Health services for adults.
Desirable
  • Experience of working within a Secure Setting.
  • Experience of Managerial responsibility, managing HR processes, supervising and appraising staff.
  • Experience of working within the Criminal Justice System.
