Substantive and Bank

Band 6 Mental Health Nurses/Care Co-Ordinators

To work across all over our sites in Surrey;

HMP Bronzefield; HMP Coldingley; HMP Downview; HMP High Down & HMP Send

By joining our Health Care Team, you will not only look after the healthcare needs of the women and men in custody, but who also have the opportunity to have a real impact on promoting health and well-being to a diverse population.

Interviews will take place on Saturday 4th February 2023 at the Trust's Health & Justice Recruitment Event; candidates will be notified by the 1st February if they have been successful for interview

Main duties of the job

Working in partnership with the criminal justice system and other agencies, we provide responsive, dependable and high-quality primary care and mental health services to existing women and men in custody that have complex mental health and/or physical health needs.

The Mental Health staff act as care co-ordinators working with women on CPA and with other complex mental health diagnosis'.

The Health & Justice Directorate works to a 7 day a week working model in all our Primary Care and Mental Health In-Reach Services.

Person Specification Education & Qualifications Essential
  • oRegistered Practitioner (Nurse, OT)
  • oMentorship or supervisor qualification
  • oEvidence of professional development since registration
Desirable
  • oPost registration qualification that enhances clinical work: CBT, DBT, Dual Diagnosis, etc.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE Essential
  • Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience of care co-ordinating within CPA framework
  • Experience of working in community setting
  • Experience of mentoring or supervising students
Desirable
  • Experience of working in a Prison or forensic environment
