The Pembrokeshire Local Primary Mental Health Support Service has a new opportunity for a Band 6 Senior Practitioner in Mental Health. You will be based at Canolfan Bro Cerwyn in Haverfordwest ,and you will also work in GP practices across Pembrokeshire. This is preferably a full time post but part time/ job share will be considered.

The role includes carrying out assessments and when indicated formulating and delivering evidence based interventions for Adults. Other aspects of the role involve making referrals to other health professionals and providing information and advice to GPs and other services.

Main duties of the job

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services;

Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.

Person Specification Qualifications & Knowledge Essential
  • Eligible to assess under part one of the measure
  • RMN , Qualified social worker , Occupational Therapist, Psychologist
  • Post graduate CBT diploma or equivalent experience
Desirable
  • Post graduate diploma in CBT
Experience Essential
  • Demonstrable relevant work experience with people who have common mental health problems i.e. anxiety and depression etc
  • Demonstrates high standards of written communication to ensure clinical outcomes are reported appropriately
  • Able to write clear reports and letters
  • Ability to evaluate and put in place the effect of training
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including telephone skills
  • Able to develop good therapeutic relationships with clients
Desirable
  • Experience of working with children and young people and or older adults
  • Worked in a service where agreed targets in place demonstrating clinical outcomes
  • Ability to manage own caseload and time
  • Evidence of working in the local community
Language Skills Desirable
  • Welsh Speaker (Level 1)
