Are you looking for a new challenge? You could be an important part of an exciting innovative Health Board whose objective is to provide Truly integrated care centred on the needs of the individual. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a neuro physiotherapist to join our physiotherapy service working across beautiful South Powys.

We are looking for a person who wants to work within a motivated and enthusiastic team whose priority is to provide specialised stroke and neurological inpatient rehabilitation. You will work closely with the Clinical Specialist Neurological Physiotherapist for South Powys and there is opportunities to link with the network of stroke and neuro specialist physiotherapists across Powys. The applicant would be also be part of a Powys wide neuro specialist multidisciplinary team including a Consultant Therapist for Stroke and Neurorehabilitation, who are responsible for identifying, developing and delivering continuous service improvements in the Stroke and neurological Conditions Delivery Plans. The applicant would have an opportunity to be involved with the Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) and Spasticity Services.

You will need to have excellent communication and organisational skills, a flexible approach to work and negotiation skills to motivate patients and staff to deliver high standards of care. You will work closely as part of an MDT within PTHB and Social services, the award winning Virtual ward and support integration.

Main duties of the job

GenericTo work as an integral and active part of the therapy and multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the therapy team in the efficient provision of a patient centred service.

Role specificResponsibilities include clinical management of patients and relevant documentation, managing a neuro inpatient and community caseload independently, completing specialist physiotherapy assessments and interventions, and clear communication with service users and their families.

To contribute to service development, mentorship of band 5 and student physiotherapists as well as the wider team and delegation of rehabilitation plans to enable active rehabilitation over 7 days.

To provide leadership to the neuro team, wider therapy team and the wider MDT.

Contribute to the continued development and maintenance of efficiency and safety in the Therapy Department.

To oversee the delivery of neuro rehabilitation across 7days.

Be flexible at times of increased capacity to the service.

The team provide a 7-day service and all staff are expected to be part of the weekend roster.
