An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist (OT) to work in the Intensive Support Team (IST), which provides multi-disciplinary assessment, short-term treatment, training, advice and practical support for adults with a learning disability who are experiencing a crisis in relation to a behaviour that challenges, and/or requiring support with their mental health.

You will provide specialist OT assessment and intervention to the service users of IST across Bedfordshire and Luton, using evidence based practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions with a focus on enabling an individual's occupational functioning. You will work within a multidisciplinary community based team and see service users in their homes, day care settings and/or work places.

You should have some demonstrable experience of working with adults who have a Learning Disability and up-to-date knowledge of current OT provision for this client group.

Regular managerial and professional supervision will be provided along with monthly opportunities to participate in OT Service-wide CPD events. Professional development and training are actively encouraged, and we also offer specialist training opportunities and a Band 6 Support and Development programme.
