We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated, determined and enthusiastic Physiotherapist to join our Acute Medicine and Care of the Elderly Team at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital , Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.

This is a static position which will help deliver urgent care to our clients. Specialized assessment and clinical reasoning skills are required.

You should have the ability to work in a fast paced environment and make discharge based decisions as part of the MDT.

Main duties of the job

To contribute to service development and on occasions lead on particular service development initiative.

To provide peer support including teaching within the physiotherapy service.

You will also be part of a mandatory Respiratory On-call evening/overnight and weekend rota.

The post holder will provide specialist advice, assessment and treatments to a range of acute medical and care of the elderly patients. Excellent problems solving and communication skills are essential.

The post holder will have an opportunity todevelop their clinical and leadership skills.

The post holder will provide a high standard of physiotherapy service (assessment and treatment) in the Acute Medicine and Care of the Elderly setting and link with the medical teams on the other acute sites within the Health Board Physiotherapy Service . They will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team including doctors, nurses, other Allied Health Professionals committed to enhancing the services and provisions to the patient.

The post holder will work as part of the respiratory on call team.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy & HCPC Registration
  • Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio
Desirable
  • Evidence of attendance on appropriate courses to enhance Specialist Acute medical knowledge and skills
  • Recent completion of validated Clinical Educator's course
Experience Essential
  • To have gained full experience within the core Band 5 rotations, including respiratory/ critical care, general/acute medicine, Rehabilitation, trauma, orthopaedics, neurology, , Msk out-pts
Desirable
  • Evidence of working within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Evidence of working at Band 6 level
Knowledge Essential
  • Knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards (local and national)
Desirable
  • NICE guidelines relevant to area of work
