Cherrywood Rehabilitation unit is a recovery focused 7 bedded inpatient unit for those individuals with long and enduring mental health needs.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, dynamic and experienced Qualified Nurse to work as a team member in a mental health residential rehabilitation unit based in Wavendon Gate providing recovery orientated care to service users with mental health problems. The service provides a 7 day rehabilitation programme offering 24hr in patient care for up to 7 inpatients and day patients.

Main duties of the job

You should have an active registration with the Nursing Midwifery council as a Mental Health Nurse or Registered Nurse Learning Disabilities with some post registration experience.

The postholder will be responsible for recovery focused assessment, planning implementation and evaluation of care needs within the multi disciplinary team.

To take responsibility for the unit regularly over a period of duty.

To supervise and teach qualified, unqualified staff and students.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • Active registration with Nursing Midwifery council as Mental Health Nurse or Registered Nursing Learning Disabilities
Desirable
  • Mentorship (Or equivalent)
Experience Essential
  • Post registration experience as a Staff Nurse
  • Experience in charge of a span of duty in acute clinical area.
  • Experience of group work.
Knowledge Essential
  • Excellent knowledge of common sections of the Mental Health Act 1983 including amendments 2007
  • Excellent knowledge of prescribed medical treatments and possible side effects
Skills Essential
  • Good Communicator
