We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced mental health pharmacist with a strong background in clinical pharmacy, quality improvement and innovation to develop their career at a senior level by joining our pharmacy team.

With a mix of clinical and operational responsibilities this post is ideal if you want to pursue either a career path towards consultant level practice or towards senior management.

If you have experience of operational management and service delivery, and possess good leadership and communication skills then we can offer you a stimulating and fulfilling role, with support from an established and experienced senior team. You will be actively supported in your personal and career development.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for leading and managing the four specialist clinical pharmacy teams in the mental health directorates, ensuring the delivery of excellent clinical pharmacy practice and the best use of resources. With a strong focus on quality improvement and effective operational management, you will progress the development of leading edge pharmacy services for our patients.

You will also be responsible for working with the directorates to ensure that good medicines management governance systems are in place, and that medicines processes are patient-centred, enable effective and responsive care, and meet the operational needs of services.

As a member of the senior pharmacy leadership team, you will actively contribute to and shape the strategic planning of the service, including innovative pharmacy and medicines systems that help achieve the trust's aspirations.

The department provides services to our mental health in-patient and outpatient teams, including forensic services, learning disability services as well as community hospitals. Our pharmacy service is highly respected, and our staff are considered integrated members of the patient-focused multi-disciplinary teams in this Trust.
