1.0 WTE CBT Therapist in NORTH BEDFORDSHIRE CAMHS Emotional Behavioural Team (EB2)
We are looking for an enthusiastic CBT Therapist to join our wonderful multi-disciplinary team, made up Clinical Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Art Therapists, CBT Therapists, Systemic Psychotherapist, Clinical Social Workers, and a Non-Medical Prescribing Nurse. The team works with children and young people aged 5 to 18 years presenting with moderate to severe mental health difficulties.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will complete assessments and offer evidence based interventions, both 1:1 and in groups. You will work closely with schools and community services. East London Foundation Trust is a fantastic trust to work for and the successful candidate will receive both training and personal development opportunities enabling them to develop high-level therapeutic skills in their chosen area of interest and expertise. We welcome applications from those who are BACP registered and those working towards this accreditation. We will support the successful candidate with CBT specific supervision.

Person Specification Education, Training and Qualifications Essential
- A Postgraduate diploma in CBT
- Accredited CBT therapist or working towards accreditation
- Experience of assessment and treatment of clients presenting with a range of mental health difficulties
- Experience of working with children and parents/carers
- Experience in using routine outcome measures to improve quality
- Experience of working with young people presenting with co-morbid conditions, e.g. ASD/ Learning Disabilities/ Eating Disorders/ Substance misuse
- Specialist clinical skills within CBT
- High level skills in formulation and treatment planning
- Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and / or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS
- Able to plan, organise and prioritise own workload.
- Competent use of IT packages e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems and verbal hostility
- Skills in facilitating group work to clients, parents/carers and/or professionals
- High level knowledge of evidence based practice and NICE guidelines
- A knowledge of Child Protection Guidelines
- Awareness of current national guidelines and policies in the field of CAMHS
- Aware of the potential impact of discrimination & disadvantage on mental health.
