Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust in partnership with Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, and Greater Manchester Police are pleased to invite applications from caring and committed individuals to join the newly commissioned Greater Manchester Control Room Triage Service.
This exciting service based within the Vulnerability Support Unit of the Police Control Room, will provide the personnel of Greater Manchester Police and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service with access to advice and support, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year; when they come into contact with members of the public who may be experiencing mental health issues. The role will involve 12 hour shift work including a rolling six week pattern of days and nights.

Main duties of the job
The Greater Manchester Mental Health Tactical Advice Service (GM MH TAS) bases Senior Mental Health Practitioners in the Greater Manchester Police Control Room to provide real-time clinical advice to police officers via telephone in order for them to make more informed decisions when dealing with members of the public in potential crisis. The post holder will work with local mental health and emergency services as an ageless service to ensure that mental vulnerability is considered, triaged and high quality information and clinical advice is provided when an individual comes in contact with, or to the attention of, Greater Manchester Police and Greater Manchester Police believe that they may be experiencing mental ill health and require support. The post holder will support the Clinical Manager in carrying continuing professional and managerial responsibility for their clinical area.Contributing to the maintenance of the overall service standards.The post holder will demonstrate an attitude which respects and values service users' and their carers.
