This is an exciting opportunity for dynamic and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologists to join our highly skilled multi-disciplinary Community CAMHS team in Salisbury. There is a strong psychological focus within the team, and a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, as well as 1 x 8a Clinical Psychologist, 2 x Band 7 Clinical Psychologists, with 2 x Assistant Psychologist posts; the team is friendly, innovative and values-based with multidisciplinary working.

There are opportunities for building on specialist skills and working in specific areas of interest, with frequent opportunities to undertake further trainings. With an active role in supervision within the team and across the trust, there is the chance to undertake further training in this area if interested. We have a strong commitment to Clinical Psychology training and the post holder will be involved in offering training placements for the Bath University Doctorate Programme, as well as teaching and being able to access the University's CPD programme. There is also the option to build on leadership skills and use these in varied ways.

Regular clinical supervision is provided, as well as the opportunity to join peer support groups, and special interest groups, both internally and externally.

Main duties of the job

As a Clinical Psychologist within The CAMHS Eating Disorders Service (TEDS) and Core CAMHS team, you would be offering high quality psychological care to children, young people experiencing significant and complex, mental health difficulties, as well as working with their families / carers and the networks around them.

You would conduct specialist assessments and formulations, deliver evidence-based interventions and use outcome measures to support and evaluate practice and service delivery. You would support the duty system and offer consultation and supervision to colleagues and other relevant professionals.

Within the Core CAMHS part of this role we are in the fortunate position of being able to discuss with candidates where your interests lie and co-create job descriptions wherever possible. There is the option to gain and build on experience in neuro developmental assessments, specific evidence-based therapies, multiagency working within the complex case consultation team, and to work with CYP with LD.

The city of Salisbury, and surrounding areas including Salisbury Plain, provide variety and contrast for those living and working there. Based at Salisbury Hospital, the team has ready access to hospital facilities including shops, caf / restaurant and the staff leisure centre.

As one base within the wider CAMHS service in Bath and Northeast Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW), Salisbury based psychologists have strong links with psychologists based in the other 4 core CAMHS teams across this patch, and also within several specialist teams (for example, In-reach, Crisis and Home Treatment, Harmful Sexual Behaviour and FCAMHS). We meet regularly, promoting professional development and providing opportunity for specialist supervision and shared learning.

The trust is currently working in a hybrid model, with the option of some flexible working from home and clinicians are provided with Trust laptops for remote consultations, with some sessions worked from the clinical base.

Hours can be varied and we would consider part- time or full-time posts.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential

• Current registration with the HCPC as a Clinical / Counselling Psychologist
• Doctoral level training in clinical psychology including specifically models of psychopathology and psychometrics, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS.
• Formal training in supervision of other psychologists

Experience Essential

• Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and threat of physical abuse
• Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of CAMHS clients across the full range of care settings, including outpatient, community, primary care and in patient settings
• Demonstrate further specialist training/experience through having received a minimum of 50 hours clinical supervision in a specific modality, or any other relevant supervised practice experience including case presentations, supported by short courses approved by the Trust Head of Psychology, and assessed at interview. Experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist within CAMHS

• Experience of the application of clinical psychology in different cultural contexts
• Experience of running groups
• Experience of supervision of trainee clinical psychologists
