We are welcoming Band 5 staff nurses to come and join our older adults mental health inpatient team. We support the older adult population of Walsall at Bloxwich Hospital.
This is an exciting time to join our team as we will be moving into a purpose built, dementia -friendly new building within the next 2 years and you will have an opportunity to be part of this project.
We are a friendly, supportive and inclusive team providing individualised nursing care to people with dementia and other mental health needs.
We promote clinical supervision and group supervision.
We also understand the strength of multi-disciplinary working with other health professionals to meet the needs of our patient population.
Main duties of the job
You will need to be caring, compassionate and committed to delivering a quality service with good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to maintain professional effective working relationships.

As a staff nurse the role incorporates opportunities to lead small shift teams, supervise unregistered support workers and engage with multi-discipline teams. Responsibilities include supporting senior staff in the day-to-day running of the ward, with development and coordination of person-centred care planning, care reviews and care evaluations.

- Experience of inpatient settings
- Good communication skills
- Further training & development
- Knowledge of current policies/guidance e.g NHS Long Term Plan
