Full Time - 37.5 hours- per week (including unsocial hours)

We are a 10 bedded low secure unit on the outskirts of Bedford, offering a specialist service for the assessment and treatment of men with learning disabilities who have offended, or exhibit offending behaviour. In this challenging but rewarding role you will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team in the delivery of predominately ward based care and activities.

Main duties of the job

If you are a newly qualified RNLD/RMN, you will receive a preceptorship from an established staff team who prioritise offering high quality care to this diverse group of individuals. In addition to a preceptorship or if you are not newly- qualified, we can offer you specialist training in specialised risk assessments such as HCR-20 v3 and the RSVP. We work very closely with our Psychologist who delivers treatment groups to our patients and there are always opportunities for our Nurses to become involved. You will become an experienced practitioner in both mental health and forensic issues and gain an in-depth understanding about how our practice is adapted for those who have learning disabilities. You will be conversant in the mental health act (1983) and implement the code of practice on a daily basis.
