If you are an existing band 5 looking for a new challenge or about to start your nursing career Bevan Ward are recruiting Band 5 RMN's.
Bevan Ward is a 15 bedded male PICU based within the City & Hackney Centre for Mental Health providing intensive secure care.
The service sets out to provide effective mental health care to help service users recover from a mental health crisis, and support their rehabilitation to get back on track with their lives.
All inpatients have a thorough assessment of their care needs and risk. This leads to the development of a comprehensive treatment plan. A tailored rehabilitation programme will be put in place for each patient focusing on their specific needs and issues.As well stabilising symptoms of mental illness, patients can access occupational and arts therapies, psychological interventions including substance misuse treatment and a range of medical services including regimes of therapeutic medication and the delivery of enhanced physical health care packages.
The ward has a multi-disciplinary team including mental health nurses, clinical support workers, clinical psychologists, a consultant psychiatrist and medical staff.If you feel you are able to contribute to the work we do and the difference we make, we welcome you to apply.
Main duties of the job
To co-ordinate and provide care and treatment to an identified group of patients without direct supervision.
To manage and organise work as required.
Take responsibility for the development and delivery of evidence based practice, ensuring that it supports and reflects service user individual needs, Trust objectives and professional guidance.
Contribute to the development of high quality evidence based in-patient services in a changing health care environment.
Contribute towards ensuring that the ward functions as an integral part of the Directorate's services.

Person Specification Education/Training/Qualification Essential
- Registered Nurse (Mental Health) OR Registered Nurse (Learning Difficulty) OR Registered Nurse (Adult)
- Working with people with mental health problems/ learning disabilities
- Managing challenging and aggressive behaviour
- Working within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Experience of providing individualized and culturally sensitive care
- Emotional Intelligence and Personal Resilience
- To have knowledge of Mental Health presentations and appropriate interventions.
