Would you like to come and join our Children's Speech & Language Therapy Team in Coventry , The City of Culture 2021 ?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a newly qualified or experienced Band 5 Speech & Language Therapist to join our innovative community based team working across Coventry. You would have a varied caseload of children to develop your clinical skills in a number of areas. The service is delivered in a variety of settings; nursery, mainstream and special schools and also in the city centre clinic. We are especially interested in therapists who have experience in or a desire to work in special schools.

We are committed to professional development and evidence based practice, offering regular in-service CPD days and peer group / one to one clinical supervision. Mentoring and management supervision are also provided as well as support from more experienced therapists. We will support you to achieve your RCSLT Newly Qualified Therapist competencies if required. Internal and external training courses are supported.

Being a member of a large Speech and Language Therapy team of SLTs and Assistants and close working with Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy colleagues gives opportunities for lots of different clinical and training experiences.

About us

The Children's Speech & Language Therapy Team aims to provide a high quality service to children, young people and their families. We provide assessment, interventions, advice and education to children and young people aged 0-19 with a Coventry GP. We also support children in Coventry schools with an Education, Health & Care Plan. We have developed clinical pathways and a competency programme in Speech, Language, Voice , Fluency, Dysphagia, Hearing Impairment, Cleft Palate, Alternative & Augmentative Communication and young children At Risk of SLCN.

The Trust received an overall rating of Good by the CQC and an Outstanding for care and compassion of which we are rightly proud. We have also been recognised both locally and nationally by receiving awards for the services we provide.

Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust provides a full range of expanding physical, mental health and learning disability services to children, young adults, adults and older adults over many sites across Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull.

• Grad Dip/ BSC SLT
• HPC Registration

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS Essential

• Good written communication
• Knowledge of a range of SLCN and assessments

EXPERIENCE Essential

• Newly or recently qualified Therapist

OTHER Essential

• Car/owner driver
