Coastal Lodge is a short term care facility in Bournemouth, Managed by Tricuro. Dorset Healthcare work in partnership to provide Therapy and Medical support to patients within the facility who require a period of bed based physical rehabilitation to enable independence.

The post holder would be required to provide Occupational Therapy based rehab for a range of physical presentations such as stroke and neurology, orthopaedics, frailty, falls, cognitive impairment and many more. Skills required to fulfil this role include knowledge and experience in moving and handling, experience of using a range of equipment, carrying out cognitive assessments, skills to holistically assess and formulate patient centred rehab goals.

The role involves working as part of a multi-professional team, including Occupational and Physiotherapists, Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Support workers and regular MDT with a Consultant Practitioner or GP.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.

Main duties of the job

To provide a high quality person centred approach to care delivery which always considers people's safety, privacy and dignity.

To provide specialist care and interventions, assessments, treatments and managing patients on a caseload, as part of the wider multidisciplinary care team.

To provide specialist advice to others regarding the management and care of patients / service users.

To devise specialist programmes of care for other professionals to deliver and ensure they are delivered appropriately.

To plan, implement and review health improvement programmes in a range of settings.

Provide supervision, mentorship, training and clinical support to students and trained practitioners.
