We are delighted to seek applications for our Consultant Psychiatrist (part time - 5 sessions per week (0.5 FTE)).

North Staffordshire Combined Health Care provides specialist Mental Health (adult and old age), Addiction (inpatient nationally and Stoke on Trent community services), Neuropsychiatry and Learning Disability, and tier 3 child psychiatry services across Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire. We also provide specialist tier 4 in-patient children's services on a wider regional basis.

We are seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic and forward thinking individual who can work within a well-established Multi-Disciplinary team working closely with external partners to develop a dynamic, responsive and client centred service. The post holder needs to be both experienced and knowledgeable in Learning Disabilities, Autism, Child/Young Persons Psychiatry and Mental Health Diagnosis. This post is half-time, the service runs from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm and part-time working hours can be negotiated alongside service delivery.

The post-holder will operate primarily across Children and Young Person's LD Community Services in the city of Stoke on Trent and North Staffordshire, (Moorlands and Newcastle).

The assessment, diagnosis and treatment of clients will form a large aspect of the role in both clinic and community locations. This is supported by an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist working closely with the wider multi-disciplinary teams.

The successful candidate will be expected to manage a caseload of clients and be competent to see clients in their own clinics. Experience in Section 12 is a requirement of the role but training can be accessed while in post. There is also an expectation for the successful individual to take part in service development projects, audits, research and supervision of the Locality Prescriber. Additionally, training, CPD and support of other team members, and a key role in the dynamic Multi-Disciplinary Team.
