An exciting opportunity has arisen within the North East Essex Early Intervention in Psychosis Team. We are seeking applications fromBand 5 or Band 6 nurses, social workers, or occupational therapists.Successfulapplicants will be enthusiastic aboutworkingwithservice-users experiencing psychosis. They willreceivesupport and supervision from the EIP Team Lead and will be able to draw on the experience and expertise from the wider MDT; including psychologists, employment specialists, family therapists, and support workers.

This opportunity is experienced community practitioners AND for applicants looking to develop in their career - we are happy to consider those with only inpatient experience. We are also excited to support successful applicants to access dedicated training in CBT-P and Family Therapy where desired.

Main duties of the job

EIP provides a care and treatment for young people and adults experiencing a first episode of psychosis. The successful candidate will hold a caseload of service users (maximum 20 for full time staff, and reduced pro-rata) and will have a number of responsibilities that include assessment, supporting our duty function, and carers interventions.

Job description Job responsibilities

  • Triaging and assessment of new referrals of clients, using specialist assessment tools such as the Comprehensive Assessment of At Risk Mental States (CAARMS)
  • Coordinating the care and assessment under the Care Programme Approach (CPA)
  • Creating and continually updating person-centred care plans and building therapeutic relationships with your clients.
  • Continually assessing risk and designing personalized risk management plans
  • Facilitate referral to crisis teams or admission to hospital where necessary, plus providing presence and involvement in inpatient care plan and discharge planning.
  • If RMN, administer long-acting anti-psychotic depot injections in a community setting
  • Monitoring of medication adherence and any potential side-effects. and organizing medical reviews when indicated.
  • Identify any possible safeguarding concerns and be responsible for the completion of safeguarding investigations.


Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • Current professional registration with appropriate body in healthcare or social work
Desirable
  • Evidence of appropriate CPD post qualification e.g. BSc Community Nursing or AMHP status or clinical skill based qualification.
Experience Essential
  • Experience working with service-users in mental health settings
Desirable
  • Experience working with service-users in Community mental health settings Experience working in Early Intervention services
