Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to develop the new Community Rehabilitation Team to support service users experiencing complex psychosis. The team will support service users who are ready to step down from inpatient facilities to the community. The aim of the team is to reduce the length of inpatient stay for service users from acute and rehabilitation wards, incorporating least restrictive practice, the NICE guidelines for complex psychosis and the Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) national program.

We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join this exciting endeavor.

The team has a strong emphasis on the Recovery Model, working with service users to maximise their independence and autonomy to improve their quality of life.

We will support you in maintaining a work-life balance and can support flexible working. The team will be based at Laurence House on the Birch Hill Hospital site in Rochdale.

The team operates during office hours of Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.

Main duties of the job

To work with service users with complex psychosis within the Community Rehabilitation Team.

To offer support to the multidisciplinary team about the Occupational Therapy principles and to contribute to case formulation.

To work within the Recovery Model, providing specialist OT assessment and interventions for caseload.

To work closely with the Social Inclusion Workers, supporting with goal orientated care plans.

Job Description:
  • To manage a defined clinical caseload, using evidence based and client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate Occupational Therapy interventions in for service users within the Community Rehabilitation Team.
  • To offer guidance and support to the Community Rehabilitation Team members and assist in goal planning for social inclusion workers.
  • To develop skills, knowledge and experience through participation in the Band 5 development group.

Person Specification:
  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy and registration with the HCPC
  • Documented evidence of continuing professional development
