We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist to work within the Primary Care Enhanced Psychological Therapies Service Central. The Services consists of diversity of psychological practitioners including: clinical psychologists of differing levels of seniority, psychoanalytical psychotherapists, CBT therapists, EMDR therapists, DBT therapists, Art Therapist and Schema Therapists.

Do you have experience of working with people with complex mental health difficulties, personality damage and trauma histories, who can demonstrate enthusiasm, compassion and optimism for the recovery and increased quality of life of the service user group.

The successful applicant will provide psychological input with the support of other colleagues from the service and enhance the psychological care of service users. The person will be providing psychological assessment, formulation and psychological interventions, whilst working alongside enthusiastic and innovative psychological teams.

Main duties of the job

The team is a motivated and ethically driven group of clinical psychologists within a wider MDT who work together to provide high levels of clinical interventions with individuals with complex psychological needs.

There are close links with a range of therapeutic professionals. There will be multiple professional and clinical CPD training opportunities supported within the post. There will be regular supervision from a consultant clinical psychologist and peer reflection sessions available.

There is wider liaison across the care group to enhance support and opportunities for clinical psychologists

The banding for the role is flexible. Applicants can apply as an 8a, but applications with less experience are very welcome to start at a band 7 through a preceptorship role. The applicant would then develop into a band 8a position after approximately two years of training and completion of competencies.

New entrants to the NHS will commence on the minimum of the scale stated above.
